LA-LA-LA
The line the room can hold
Six songs, from the first title in 2022 to the Badge War theme in 2026. Not a filler syllable, and not every track. S1 is at twelve o’clock on the wheel. She is not in the first four. The la is older than her first group chorus, and it is still the line under the full twenty-four.

Generation
La, la-la, la, la-la
Acid Angel from Asia · four · ACCESS
Lyric: Jaden Jeong, EL CAPITXN, Vendors (Nano), Sungwoo Kim. Composition: EL CAPITXN, Vendors (Nano), Maria Marcus, Louise Frick Sveen. Arrangement: EL CAPITXN, Vendors (Nano). Background voice: ADORA. Choreo on the album note: Choi Hyo-je.
This is the birth. 28 October 2022, before a ten-member debut existed. Gravity had already picked the four bodies: NaKyoung, HyeRin, YuBin, YooYeon. The album is ACCESS. Generation is track two, the title. The physical disc waited until 9 November, after Itaewon. The song did not wait.
NaKyoung opens on English, not on la: swiping, never enough, never-ending circles. Then all four drop the refrain, with “TikTok up” thrown on top like a notification. The verses admit they do not know themselves yet. Truth feels like something. A lie can heal. Ice cream melts into a daydream, and the other person is a mirror. The chorus finally says the relation out loud: here, together, disordered, jump into the décadence. The la never says that. It is the circle the lyric already named.
Why it stayed: a brand-new unit cannot hand a crowd a Korean verse and expect it back. Four girls can hand them a loop. Every later la is this one, stretched. The studio that built it — EL CAPITXN with Maria Marcus — is the same room that later writes Girls Never Die and comes back for World Wild Women. The signature is not an accident of one chorus. It is the first door they cut, and they kept using the same hinge.

Rising
La-la-la-la, la-la
S1–S10 · ASSEMBLE · debut ten
Writers on the lyric page: Jaden Jeong, GDLO, YELO, simple tea, Artronic Waves. GDLO arranged, directed the vocals, and played the keys. Mixed by T. Rabbit. Mastered by Kwon Nam-woo. WAV chose the title on COSMO. On the ballot it was Song B.
13 February 2023. The first time the house sings as a group, and the first sound is not a name. Three bars: la-la-la-la, la-la, and a last la-la-la that does not even finish the pattern. Ten voices, including S1 SeoYeon, who was not in Generation. The door from the four to the ten is wordless on purpose.
Then the feeling arrives, and it is suspicious of the room. YooYeon, SeoYeon, ChaeYeon, and Kaede sing the smile in front of you and the hypocrisy behind it. DaHyun, HyeRin, JiWoo, and YuBin lift the pre-chorus: stand up, head up, fight it. A flower still opens in the wind. Show what you feel. A pearl inside the thing itself. The chorus calls the self a déjà vu — a face you already saw in a dream — and asks the rain to hit harder. Under that last plea the la comes back, small, in parentheses: 비바람 좀 더 세게 (La-la-la). The intro’s loop has become a grit under the wish.
This is the one song in the line that EL CAPITXN did not build. GDLO’s room made it, the same room that later leads Hit the Floor. The la still survived the change of studio. That is the evidence it had become a group habit, not a producer’s tic. Cherry Talk, the crystal-four counterpart, does not use it. Rising does, because Rising is the group introducing itself, and Generation had already taught them how a group introduces itself.

Girls’ Capitalism
La-la-la, la, heart
LOVElution · eight · ↀ
Lyric: Jaden Jeong and Jeon Ji-eun. Composition: EL CAPITXN, Vendors (Louis), Vendors (Nano), Maria Marcus, Jonna Hall, Jongsoo Kim. Arrangement: EL CAPITXN with both Vendors. Background voice: Perrie. SeoYeon captains the eight. Nien, Xinyu, and SoHyun debut on this album.
17 August 2023. The love-side eight, album ↀ, a mark that reads as a thousand and as infinity. The title track is not a confession to a boy. The album note says it plainly: girls living inside capitalism, and what they actually think. The feed is endless. Happiness is not something another person can stand in for. Cute is boring. Pretty things are hers. She will love the girl in the mirror more.
The la changes job. Generation’s la was a circle. Rising’s la was a door. This one picks up a noun and will not put it down: la, heart. “I’m the key to my heart, love me better.” The post-chorus keeps the same syllables and walks them into a dream that gets bigger every day. Named members argue with the filter. All eight carry the heart. That split is the connection. The private sentence stays private. The chant is the unit.
EL CAPITXN and Maria Marcus are back, with Jonna Hall in the composing room and Jeon Ji-eun beside Jaden on the lyric. The hinge from 2022 still fits. What changed is the emotion glued to it. Not “we don’t know ourselves.” Not “send the rain.” Possession. A girl pricing her own attention, then spending it on herself.

Girls Never Die
La-la-la-la, la-la-la
All 24 · ASSEMBLE24 · first studio album
Lyric: Jaden Jeong. Composition: EL CAPITXN, Maria Marcus, Arineh Karimi, Vendors (Zenur), Vendors (Nano), Kim Jong-soo. Arrangement: EL CAPITXN, Vendors (Zenur), Vendors (Nano). Track 7 on the same album is just called 24.
8 May 2024. The first album with all twenty-four, and the chorus is the song. No metaphor in the way. La-la-la-la, la-la-la, then the instruction: go to the end, don’t quit, stand up when you fall. Girls never die, 절대 never cry. HaYeon, YeonJi, SooMin, SeoAh, and JooBin sing the frightened half — a dazzling world that blinds you, a self you don’t want seen, thick makeup, a filter, and the question “do you get it now?” The la does not argue with that verse. It answers it, every time the chorus returns.
The bridge is the relation written as a trick. Follow the changed girl. Become one. Your dream becomes her, and you dream it together. Then a line is printed backwards so “twenty-four dreams” and “we unite as one” have to be read as a single phrase. Track 7, sitting later on the same record, is titled 24 and nothing else. The number and the chant are the same idea in two shapes: many names, one sentence a hall can hold.
Jaden writes the words alone this time. The composing room is the Generation room plus Arineh Karimi and Kim Jong-soo. Rising’s “stand up” and this song’s “stand up after you fall” are the same verb, two years apart, now sung by everyone who has a number. This is the signature people mean. Not because it was first — Generation was first — but because twenty-four bodies made the loop undeniable.

깨어 (Are You Alive)
La-la-la, la-la-la-la
All 24 · ASSEMBLE25
Writers: Jaden Jeong, Jang Da-in, LIRA, Ikki, HARING, Kwon Ae-jin, Lyd. HARING arranged and played drums, keys, synth, and bass. Guitar: Shiry. Mixed by Lee Tae-seop at Gateway. Mastered by Kwon Nam-woo. Video: Yunah Sheep. Gravity teased the song in January 2025. It came out 12 May. SeoYeon leads the ASSEMBLE25 chapter. Kotone asks the question.
A year after Girls Never Die, the la is no longer an instruction. It is a question that refuses to resolve. Kotone says “Are you alive” — the title, cut off, then a huh — and the other twenty-three answer with la-la-la, la-la-la-la, four times, before anyone explains the dream that keeps moving away. Inside the chant SooMin and later Sullin say wake up. Xinyu says the truth she was hiding: I want to be happy, more than anyone. Kaede answers from the other side: I am happy, and I am beautiful, more than anyone. Both lines sit in the same la. The chant holds a wish and a claim at once.
The verses are the running. NaKyoung and JooBin cannot hold a distant light. Hope and despair in the same step. HyeRin, SeoAh, and Kotone: the world shines, so why is there no breath, and why does the dream get further the harder you run? The second pass moves the same sentence through YuBin and ChaeYeon, then SoHyun offers escape into a thicket where a small self can hide. JiYeon, near the end, tells you not to cry, it is a nightmare, the world is the sunlight of the dream. Mayu closes on the turn: the happiness was already there.
HARING’s room, not EL CAPITXN’s and not GDLO’s. Third studio. The la still opens the record’s title. That is the whole argument for calling it a signature. Diablo, two tracks later on this same album, opens on a la and then spends the chorus on “call me.” Too Hot, one track before Diablo, is da-ra-ra, not la. The group knows the difference. Are You Alive keeps the hall’s line. The neighbours borrow the vowel and do something else.

World Wild Women
La-la-la, la-la-la, life
moon writes · Badge War 4 · all of them sing
Lyric: Kaede, Park SoHyun, Lynn, Park ShiOn, Sullin, JiYeon — the moon dimension, writing into a group song. Composition: EL CAPITXN, Vendors (Zenur), Arineh Karimi, Maria Marcus, Kristin Carpenter. Arrangement: EL CAPITXN, Vendors (Zenur). Gravity named the title 11–12 June 2026. Out 17 August, with the Badge War 4 character trailer.
The title is Wild, not Wide. Gravity picked those three words for the Badge War 4 theme, a season whose game treats failure as a stat you can spend. The six moon members write the words. That is new. Jaden is not the lyricist on this one. The girls who play the season write the season’s song, and the la is still the spine, because the composing room is the old one again: EL CAPITXN, Maria Marcus, Arineh Karimi, Vendors, plus Kristin Carpenter.
Listen to what they attach the la to. Not a circle, not a heart, not “never die.” Life. “La-la-la, la-la-la, la-la-la, life.” Around it: you look like a weak girl, a pretty prim one, and it is time to show otherwise. Over me, past my own limit. Super do, I’m a super do. A day like a war. Getting the badge. Nobody can block the path my sweat is taking. Then the quiet centre, which is the emotion the chant usually hides: don’t disappear, this clumsy night dance; a dream blooming in the gap between people who are not the same; loneliness and sadness we divided and then forgot. The la comes back from that whisper into the oldest tripleS verb. 쓰러진대도 다시 일어나. 부딪혀도 난 멈추지 않아. Stand up even if you fall — Girls Never Die’s line, rewritten by the members, with a collision added.
So the signature is not that every song says la. Hit the Floor never does. Too Hot is another vowel. Diablo borrows the opening and leaves. The signature is that when the group needs a line the whole room can carry — four girls in 2022, ten at debut, eight in love, twenty-four on a full album, twenty-four asking if they are alive, six writers inside a variety theme — they reach for this one. It stayed because the roster is designed to change, and a hook full of names would break. A la does not.
Names in these songs live on their own pages. S1 SeoYeon · AAA · LOVElution · moon · Kotone · Kaede
